FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD
What is God really like? The soul desires to know,
Is He unfeeling, and unconcerned about life’s woes?
Many suffer terrible hurt and disappoints in life,
They cannot overcome the problems that come with strife.
Jesus knew how difficult it was to reach the hearts of men,
It was challenging for people to fully comprehend.
He chose to come to earth and walk with simple folk,
He would show them what God is like- through His work.
He would teach them about how God was like a Father dear,
His greatest joy would be for His children to draw near.
The world needs to know afresh the love of God,
And be encouraged to know that He can mend discord.
How may we comprehend the depth of God’s great love?
Through understanding how He would send Jesus from above.
He was prepared to let His Son experience terrible suffering,
He would give to all who came in faith- the promise of life everlasting.
The heart is moved to ponder these wondrous thoughts,
Imagine such a profound love from a mighty God!
The heart is drawn to respond in deep humility,
And receive from God assurance of life for eternity.
