#2: LET MY PEOPLE GO

Pharaoh was a mighty king whose word was feared,

The children of Israel wept, but to their faith they adhered.

They lifted up their eyes to the Lord in sorrow and wept,

Little did they know that by the power of God they were kept.

Moses spoke to Pharaoh as the servant of the LORD,

“Let My people go!” This was a demand from God!

Pharaoh refused to obey and he hardened his heart,

Egypt would regret this; the nation was ripped apart!

Ten plagues ravaged Egypt and the people were afraid,

But the children of Israel were kept, as the Lord had said.

It took the loss of Pharaoh’s firstborn to bring him to his knees,

He could not but obey; the Lord’s People, he had to release!

The children of Israel now worshipped their God in awe,

They would be given the Ten Commandments as His Law.

He would be their faithful God looking after all their needs,

Their part was to learn how to love Him and obey His creed.
