#12: GREEN OLIVE TREE
In great love, the LORD planted a noble vine,
A seed of highest quality was sown in time.
But a degenerate plant arose instead,
Great was the sorrow for Israel’s mistake!
In great love again, the Lord planted an Olive Tree,
His care for it was plain for everyone to see.
He even gave it a name, “Lovely and of Good Fruit.”
But this plan was ruined! It was corrupted to its root!
God’s love for His People included many Plans,
But they were conditional, they depended on Man.
The People could choose to be blessed by God,
Or they could end up sadly cursed by the LORD!
The LORD who planted these trees had good in mind,
He promised blessings, because He is good and kind.
What a waste when man chooses to follow his own heart,
He wakes up to the fact that, from God, he has grown apart.
