(I) RECURRING THEME: “SHOUT FOR JOY”

“But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You;
Let them ever
shout for joy , because You defend them;
Let those who love Your name be joyful in You.”
Psalm 5:11

“Be glad in the LORD and rejoice, you righteous;
And
shout for joy , all you upright in heart!” Psalm 32:11

“Let them shout for joy and be glad,
Who favour my righteous cause;
And let them say continually, ‘Let the LORD be magnified,
Who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.”
Psalm 35:27

(II) REASONS FOR THIS STRONG SENSE OF JOY

1. God’s Defence of those who trust in Him

“Because You defend them” Psalm 5:11

2. God’s Blessing

“For You, O LORD, will bless the righteous;
With favour You will surround him as with a shield.”
Psalm 5:12

3. God’s forgiveness of sin

“Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven,
Whose sin is covered.
Blessed is the man to whom the LORD does not impute iniquity,
And in whose spirit there is no deceit.”
Psalm 32:1-2

4. God’s Preservation

“You are my hiding place;
You shall preserve me from trouble;
You shall surround me with songs of deliverance.”
Psalm 32:7

5. God’s vindication

“Vindicate me, O LORD my God, according to Your righteousness…” Psalm 35:24

6. God’s Pleasure in His servant

“…Let the LORD be magnified, Who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.” Psalm 35:27

(III) RESOLUTION TO DISPLAY THIS SPIRIT OF JOY

1. Resolution to always find joy in the Lord

“…Let them ever shout for joy…
Let those also who love Your name Be joyful in You.”

2. Resolution to always express joy in life

“Be glad in the LORD and rejoice, you righteous;
And shout for joy, all you upright in heart!”
Psalm 32:11

3. Resolution to speak of the Lord with praise

“And my tongue shall speak of Your righteousness
And of Your praise all the day long.”
Psalm 35:28
