HONESTY AND CANDIDNESS

1. These were exhibited by the Psalmist

a) At the beginning of his writing of the Epic   (Psalm 119)
b) His candid assessment of his personal spiritual life
i) Oh, that my ways were directed to keep Your statutes   (Psalm 119:5)
ii) Then I would not be ashamed   (Psalm 119:6)
iii) The need for cleansing   (Psalm 119:8)
iv) The danger of wandering away   (Psalm 119:10)
v) Conflicts in life   (Psalm 119:23)

a) To understand the many problems in life
b) To deal with the sin problems in life effectively

THE HEAVINESS FELT BY THE SOUL

1. Heaviness expressed

a) My soul clings to the dust   (Psalm 119:25)

c) Weakness of faith and life

SEEKING REVIVAL FROM THE LORD

1. Revive me according to Your Word   (Psalm 119:25)

2. Strengthen me according to Your Word   (Psalm 119:28)

a) Revival is to be sought from the Lord
b) The Word of God plays a vital role

3. The way of truth must be chosen   (Psalm 119:30)

4. There must be a clinging to the Word   (Psalm 119:31)

5. There will be a strong commitment to run the course of God’s Word   (Psalm 119:32)
