YOU ARE A SHIELD TO ME
It was God Himself who gave this promise to Abraham;
“Do not be afraid; I am your shield;” he would not come to harm.
There may be powerful enemies who may threaten;
But He who has promised, is God Almighty in Heaven.
King David found that he had many enemies in life;
There were many powerful enemies and much strife.
It seemed natural to feel anxiety that can cause deep fear.
How important it is to seek God in prayer and to draw near.
Fear need not overwhelm us and cause us to live in sorrow;
Doubts assail and the mind wonders if there would be a tomorrow.
Faith must be exercised strongly in a great and mighty God.
No one is more powerful than our glorious LORD!
The LORD is our Shield and He is able to provide protection;
We can defeat all fears if we learn to focus on God in meditation.
The LORD is our Shield and He will yet give us victory;
Our great and living God will grant us His grace and mercy!
