THE REJOICING OF THE SPIRIT
There is a kind of Joy that everyone may experience;
It is a joy that the heart feels and one feels gladdened.
But that joy does not seem to last very long;
All too soon, that feeling fades along with the song.
But there is a kind of joy that is deeper;
It is a joy that the soul feels, and it is richer.
The spirit feels light and is wonderfully happy;
It is able to see the light of heaven’s glory.
The spirit is the deeper part of Man;
It was created by God’s mighty hand.
The spirit is the lamp of the Lord;
It searches deeply, the things of God.
The spirit is able to recognize God’s majesty;
It sees how God has blessed us so graciously.
The spirit cannot but rejoice in God’s blessings.
It will seek to magnify the Lord in thanksgiving!
