BLESSED BE GOD WHO HAS NOT TURNED AWAY MY PRAYER
The Scriptures teach us much about prayer;
And that the Lord our God really does care.
But when afflictions are experienced;
We find our hearts fighting turbulence.
We struggle and we wonder if God hears prayer;
Unbelief assails and we wonder if God cares.
Our prayers become weak and we are uncertain;
Does God really hear us, so far away in Heaven?
When iniquity is found in our heart, unconfessed;
We have harboured the sin of unrighteousness.
Our part is to simply and candidly own up to our sins;
God is more than willing to offer us deep cleansing.
The Psalmist had a special thought to share;
God had not turned away his prayer!
He saw this as the Lord’s great mercy;
He will share this truth most gladly.
