DEAL BOUNTIFULLY WITH YOUR SERVANT

The Psalmist desired to be a servant of God;

He asked for bountiful blessings from the LORD.

He was not asking for material blessings actually;

He desired blessings that are significant spiritually.

He was but a stranger in a world that was unfriendly;

He would need the blessing of grace and mercy.

He desired to have God open his eyes to behold;

Wondrous truths from God that would make him bold.

He sought to be a servant of God with earnest;

He will forsake sin and seek after righteousness.

This was a heartfelt desire that was sincere;

He would seek to keep his heart strong and pure.

His heart longed for God’s judgments greatly;

He was drawn to seek the LORD diligently.

To be servant of God was his heart’s intent;

To the world’s temptations he would not bend!
