EXERCISING TRUST AMIDST GREAT SUFFERING

1. Problems

a) Trouble is near   (Psalm 22:11b)
b) There is none to help   (Psalm 22:11c)
c) Many bulls have surrounded Me   (Psalm 22:12a)
d) Strong bulls of Bashan have encircled Me   (Psalm 22:12c)
e) They gape at Me with their mouths   (Psalm 22:13a)
f) Like a raging and roaring lion   (Psalm 22:13b)
g) For dogs have surrounded Me   (Psalm 22:16a)
h) The congregation of the wicked has enclosed Me   (Psalm 22:16b)
i) They pierced My hands and My feet   (Psalm 22:16c)
j) They look and stare at Me   (Psalm 22:17b)
k) They divide My garments among them   (Psalm 22:18a)
l) And for My clothing they cast lots   (Psalm 22:18b)

2. How Problems may affect adversely

a) I am poured out like water   (Psalm 22:14a)
b) All My bones are out of joint   (Psalm 22:14b)
c) My heart is like wax; it has melted within Me   (Psalm 22:14c)
d) My strength is dried up like a potsherd   (Psalm 22:15a)
e) My tongue clings to My jaws   (Psalm 22:15b)
f) You have brought Me to the dust of death   (Psalm 22:15c)
g) I can count all My bones   (Psalm 22:16a)

3. Exercising Trust

a) But You are He who took Me out of the womb   (Psalm 22:9a)
b) You made Me trust while on My mother’s breasts   (Psalm 22:9b)
c) I was cast upon You from birth   (Psalm 22:10a)
d) From My mother’s womb, You have been My God   (Psalm 22:10b)
e) Be not far from Me   (Psalm 22:11a)
