“HOW LONG?” PHRASE

1. How long?   (Psalm 13:1-2)

a) For God to look on
b) But God does not seem to respond

2. Expression of:

a) Anxiety
b) Uncertainty
c) Fear
d) Sorrow

STRONG PLEAS

1. Prayer for rescue

2. Prayer for deliverance from destructions

3. Prayer for sake-keeping of a precious life   (Psalm 35:17)

PROMISE MADE

1. I will give thanks in the great assembly   (Psalm 35:16a)

2. I will praise You among many people   (Psalm 35:16b)

DESCRIPTIVE INSIGHTS ABOUT THE ENEMY

1. Let them not rejoice over me who are wrongfully my enemies   (Psalm 35:19a)

a) Let them not rejoice over me
b) Wrongfully my enemies
i) Not a reference to external/ traditional enemies
ii) Could be a reference to enemies who are from Israel
iii) These are indeed wrongful enemies

2. Let not them wink with the eye who hate me without a cause   (Psalm 35:19b)

a) Winking with the eye as conspirators
b) They hate without a cause (no good reason to hate)

3. They do not speak peace   (Psalm 35:20a)

4. They devise deceitful matters against the quiet ones in the land   (Psalm 35:20b)

5. They opened their mouth wide against me   (Psalm 35:21a)

6. They speak derisively with an intent of intimidation
