1. The Psalmist’s Observation about those who reject God

a) Those who are foolish   (Psalm 14:1a)
b) Denial of God   (Psalm 14:1b)
c) Those who are corrupt   (Psalm 14:1c)
d) Those who have done abominable works   (Psalm 14:1d)
e) Those who do not do good   (Psalm 14:1e)

2. God’s Perspective Looking down from Heaven

a) He looks down from heaven to observe
b) To see if there would be any who seek Him   (Psalm 14:2)

3. Conclusion of God’s Observation

a) They have turned aside   (Psalm 14:3a)

d) This Divine observation confirms that of the Psalmist

4. Musing of the Psalmist

a) The workers of iniquity
Do they not have knowledge?   (Psalm 14:4a)
b) They eat up my people as they eat bread
(The subjects of the kingdom)   (Psalm 14:4b)
c) They do not call on the LORD   (Psalm 14:4c)
d) They are in great fear   (Psalm 14:5a)

5. Thoughts about the Righteous

a) God is with the generation of the righteous   (Psalm 14:5b)
b) The counsel of the poor may be shamed
But the LORD is his refuge   (Psalm 14:6)

HEART-FELT FEELINGS OF THE PSALMIST

1. Salvation from the LORD

Oh, that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion!   (Psalm 14:7a)

2. Bringing back the captivity

When the LORD brings back the captivity of His people   (Psalm 14:7b)

3. Gladness in the LORD

Let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad   (Psalm 14:7a)
