THE ANGEL OF THE LORD

1. He appeared as an adversary   (Numbers 22:22)

2. He blocked the path

THE DONKEY OF BALAAM

1. It saw the Angel of the LORD

2. It had a drawn sword

3. The donkey turned away from the path to into a field   (Numbers 22:23)

BALAAM

1. He sat on the donkey

2. He had two servants with him

3. He struck the donkey because it had turned aside

4. He wanted it to return to the footpath   (Numbers 22:23)

THE ANGEL OF THE LORD

1. He stood in the narrow path

2. Balak and his servants and his donkey were walled in   (Numbers 22:24)

THE DONKEY

1. It saw the Angel of the LORD again

2. It pushed against the wall and crushed Balaam’s foot

BALAAM

1. He struck the donkey again   (Numbers 22:25)

2. He was angry with his donkey

THE ANGEL OF THE LORD

1. He went further down the path

2. There was now no space for the donkey to turn   (Numbers 22:26)

THE DONKEY

1. It sat down and refused to move   (Numbers 22:27)

2. Fear of the Angel of the LORD

LORD BALAAM

1. He struck the donkey with his staff

2. He was angry with his donkey

THE DONKEY SPEAKS TO BALAAM

1. God enabled the donkey to speak

2. What have I done to you that you, that you struck me these three times?   (Numbers 22:28)

BALAAM TO THE DONKEY

1. Because you abused me

2. I wish I had a sword in my hand, for now I would kill you   (Numbers 22:29)

THE DONKEY TO BALAAM

1. Am I not your donkey on which you have ridden, ever since I was yours

2. Was I ever disposed to do this to you?   (Numbers 22:30)

3. Balaam’ reply- No!   (Numbers 22:30)

THE OPENING OF BALAAM’S EYES

1. God opened the eyes of Balaam

2. He saw the Angel of the LORD with a drawn sword

3. He bowed his head and fell on his face   (Numbers 22:31)

THE ANGEL OF THE LORD TO BALAAM

1. Why have you struck your donkey these three times?

2. Behold, I have come out to stand against you,

3. Because your way is perverse before Me

4. The donkey saw Me and turned aside from Me

5. Surely I would have killed you by now, and let her live

(Numbers 22:32-33)

BALAAM’S RESPONSE

1. I have sinned

2. I did not know You stood in the way against me

3. If it displeases You, I will turn back

(Numbers 22:34)

THE ANGEL OF THE LORD

1. Go with the men

2. But only the word that I speak to you

3. That you shall speak

(Numbers 22:35)
