a) Beast- representing power

b) Beast- representing kingdom

c) Four great kingdoms

d) Corresponds with an earlier vision given to Nebuchadnezzar (Daniel 2)

i) Head of gold- first kingdom Daniel 2:36-38

ii) Chest and arms of silver- second kingdom Daniel 2:32, 39a

iii) Bronze- third kingdom Daniel 2:39b

iv) Iron and feet of clay- fourth kingdom Daniel 2:40-43

4. Description of the four great beasts

a) Like a lion with eagle’s wings Daniel 7:4

i) Wings plucked off

ii) Made to stand on two feet

iii) Given a man’s heart

b) Like a bear Daniel 7:5

i) Raised up on one side

ii) Three ribs in its mouth between his teeth

iii) “Arise, devour much flesh”

c) Like a leopard Daniel 7:6

i) With four wings of a bird on its back

ii) Four heads

iii) Dominion given to it

d) Fourth beast Daniel 7

a. Dreadful and terrible, exceedingly strong
