(I) A STARK DESCRIPTION OF OUR MORTAL BODY

1. An earthly house

2. A tent

3. It will be destroyed one day (2 Corinthians 5:1a)

(II) A GLORIOUS HOPE OF AN IMMORTAL BODY

1. A building with God

2. A house not made with hands

3. Eternal in the heavenlies (2 Corinthians 5:1b)

(III) A LONGING TO BE IN THE IMMORTAL BODY

1. To groan for this immortal body

2. To earnestly desire it

3. To be clothed with a habitation which is from heaven (2 Corinthians 5:2)

(IV) OUR MORTAL LIFE ON EARTH

1. We groan

2. We are burdened

(V) A CONFIDENT HOPE

1. Our hope is in God

2. He has given us His Spirit as a Guarantee

3. We are confident

4. We walk by faith and not by sight
