THE CALLING OF THE LORD TO HIS PEOPLE TO WORSHIP HIM

1. A call to gather His people together to Himself   (Psalm 50:5)

a. His saints
b. His covenantal people
c. The wicked included (The not so obvious wicked)   (Psalm 50:16)

2. A call to hear and He would speak to them   (Psalm 50:7)

a. To reveal Himself   (Psalm 50:3)
b. To show greater things   (Psalm 50:23)

THE LORD’S EVALUATION OF THE WORSHIP OF THE PEOPLE   (Psalm 50:7-15)

THE CHALLENGE TO WORSHIP THE LORD WITH THANKSGIVING

“Offer thanksgiving to God”   Psalm 50:14

1. Offering thanksgiving to God

2. Having a heart of deep appreciation and gratitude to God

a. The Mighty One as our Lord and our God   (Psalm 50:1)
b. The Lord’s blessings
i. He relates to us   (Psalm 50:3)
ii. He keeps His covenant   (Psalm 50:3)
iii. He provides food   (Psalm 50:9)
iv. He answers prayers   (Psalm 50:15)

3. Having thanksgiving as an overarching principle in worship

a. Paying our vows with thanksgiving   (Psalm 50:14)
b. Calling upon the Lord with thanksgiving   (Psalm 50:15)
c. Glorifying the Lord with thanksgiving   (Psalm 50:15)
d. Offering thanksgiving and praise from a righteous life   (Psalm 50:23)
