“I REMEMBER YOU”

 

(I) A GOD WHO REMEMBERS

1. A God who remembers His covenant (Exodus 6:5)

2. A God who remembers His covenant promises (Exodus 6:8)

3. A God who remembers His covenant people (Exodus 6:7)

 

(II) A GOD WHO LOVINGLY REMEMBERS

1. The kindness of your youth (Jeremiah 2:2)

2. The love of your betrothal (Jeremiah 2:2)

3. When you went after Me in the wilderness (Jeremiah 2:2)

 

(III) A SPECIAL RELATIONSHIP

1. Israel was holiness to the LORD (Jeremiah 2:3)

a) Set apart

b) Sanctified


2. The firstfruits of His increase (Jeremiah 2:3)

a) Special

b) Promising

 

(IV) A DISASTROUS DEVELOPMENT

1. Gone far from Me (Jeremiah 2:5)

2. Followed idols (Jeremiah 2:5)

3. No searching of God (Jeremiah 2:6)

 

(V) THE DENIAL OF THE BACKSLIDING NATION

1. “I am not polluted” Jeremiah 2:23

2. “I have loved aliens, and after them I will go” Jeremiah 2:25

3. “I am innocent” Jeremiah 2:35

4. “I have not sinned” Jeremiah 2:35

 

(VI) HOPE FOR THE NATION

1. To return to the Lord (Jeremiah 3:12)


2. To acknowledge sin (Jeremiah 3:13)


3. God’s Promises

a) He will not cause His anger to fall on His people (Jeremiah 3:12)

b) He will be merciful (Jeremiah 3:12)

c) Healing of backsliding (Jeremiah 3:22)
