INTRODUCTION

1. A wonderful Invitation to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven

a) This is given to everyone
i) To the humble
ii) To those who are in the darkness of sin
b) The repentant sinner
i) Peter (Luke 5)
ii) Matthew (Matthew 9)

2. The Gospel message to be remembered and treasured

a) The problem of sin
i) All have sinned
ii) We need to be forgiven and cleansed from sin
iii) We cannot resolve the problem of sin on our own
b) The provision of an answer
i) God’s gift of a Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ
ii) His gift of salvation
iii) His promise of sonship
iv) His offer of a home in heaven
c) The personal acceptance
i) We have to personally receive the Lord Jesus as our Saviour
ii) We have to exercise our faith
iii) We have to continue to hold fast to our faith to the very end

THE PROMISE OF BLESSINGS FROM GOD

1. There are many Blessings that God has promised to all true believers

2. These Blessings are called “The Beatitudes”

3. There are many Types of Blessings

a) Some are physical/ material blessings
b) Some are spiritual blessings

4. We have a wonderful list of 8 Blessings taught by the Lord Jesus Christ

THE BEATITUDES (BLESSINGS PROMISED)

1. The Possession of the Kingdom of heaven

a) Called “Kingdom of Heaven” (Matthew 5:3)
b) Called “The kingdom of God” (Luke 6:20)

2. The Comfort of God (Matthew 5:4)

3. An inheritance from God (Matthew 5:5)

4. Provision from God (Matthew 5:6)

5. The Promise of Mercy Matthew 5:7)

6. Seeing the Presence of God (Matthew 5:8

7. The blessing of Peace (Matthew 5:9)

8. The Prize of the Kingdom of Heaven (Matthew 5:10)

OUR LIFE ON EARTH WHILE WE WAIT TO GO TO HEAVEN

1. The Lord Jesus wants to teach us how we are to live

a) As Christians
b) As Children of God
c) As Citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven
d) As God’s very special people

2. Our life on earth can be quite difficult at times

a) Some may be poor (Luke 6:20)
b) Some may be hungry (Luke 6:21a)
c) Some may weep (Luke 6:21b)
d) Some may hate us (Luke 6:22)
i) They may exclude us
ii) They may revile us
iii) They may cast us out (Luke 6:22)

THE BLESSINGS OF GOD WOULD BE ASSUREDLY GIVEN TO US

1. We will never lose our place in the Kingdom of Heaven (Matthew 5:3; Luke 6:20)

a) This is our assurance
b) This must be in our heart and mind

2. God would provide for us

a) Physically
b) Spiritually (Matthew 5:6; Luke 6:21)

3. God would give us comfort (Matthew 5:4)

4. He would give us joy (Luke 6:23)

5. He would give us a reward in heaven (Luke 6:23)

OUR CHALLENGE

1. To grow

a) In our knowledge
b) In our understanding
c) In our faith

2. To let our hearts and minds be filled

a) With God’s Promises of blessings
b) With Hope
c) With Joy

3. Let us learn to Trust God, our Father in Heaven

a) As the children of God
b) As people of the Kingdom of heaven
