A SPECIAL SONG TO GIVE GLORY TO GOD

1. A song to worship God

a. In that day…a reference to the future Millennial Kingdom
b. It gives us a glimpse of what worship in the future will be like
c. It is a reality that should be seen and appreciated in the present

2. Seeing how God is glorified in His works

“You are glorified.”   Isaiah 26:15
a. The song is meant to give glory to God
b. The content gives glory to God
c. Seeing how God is glorified in His works with eyes of faith

SEEING THE WORKS OF GOD THAT GLORIFY HIM

1. Seeing God

a. “Yah, the Lord”   (Isaiah 26:4)
b. “O Most Upright”   (Isaiah 26:7)
c. “O Lord our God”   (Isaiah 26:13)

2. Seeing the external works of God

a. God will build Jerusalem into a strong city
“We have a strong city; God will appoint salvation for walls and bulwarks. Open the gates, that the righteous nation which keeps the truth may enter in.”   Isaiah 26:1, 2
b. He will bring down the lofty and proud
“For He brings down those who dwell on high,”   Isaiah 26:5
c. He will give victory to the poor and needy
“The foot shall tread it down- The feet of the poor and the steps of the needy.”   Isaiah 26:6
d. He will establish peace in the land   (Isaiah 26:12)
e. He will destroy the enemies of Israel   (Isaiah 26:13, 14)
f. He will bring growth to the nation of Israel
“You have increased the nation, O Lord, You have increased the nation;
You are glorified;
You have expanded all the borders of the land.”   Isaiah 26:15

3. Seeing the internal works of God

a. God will give perfect peace
“You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.”   Isaiah 26:3
b. He will give everlasting strength
“Trust in the Lord forever,
For in YAH, the Lord, is everlasting strength.”   Isaiah 26:4
c. He will chasten those who do not walk with Him
“They poured out a prayer when Your chastening was upon them.”   Isaiah 26:16
d. The judgment of the Lord on the earth
i. They will learn righteousness   (Isaiah 26:9)
ii. Seeing the judgment of the Lord on the iniquity of the people   (Isaiah 26:21)

APPROPRIATE RESPONSE
