BEARING FALSE WITNESS IN A COURT CASE

1. Circulation of a false report   Exodus 23:1

2. Abetting the wicked in being an unrighteousness witness   Exodus 23:1

3. Do not follow the crowd in doing evil   Exodus 23:2

4. Do not give false testimony in a dispute to pervert justice   Exodus 23:2

5. No partiality against a poor man in a dispute   Exodus 23:3

KINDNESS TO AN ENEMY

1. The animals of an enemy going astray

Bring the animals back to the enemy   Exodus 23:4

2. An animal under a great burden

Help the animal under duress   Exodus 23:5

JUDGMENT IN A COURT CASE

1. Do not pervert the judgment for the poor   Exodus 25:6

2. Keep your distance from a false matter   Exodus 23:7

3. Do not kill the innocent and righteous   Exodus 23:7

4. Do not take a bribe   Exodus 23:8

a) The bribe blinds the discerning
b) It perverts the words of the righteous   Exodus 23:8

5. Do not oppress the stranger   Exodus 23:9

Israel was a stranger in Egypt once!

6. God’s Involvement

He will not justify the wicked   Exodus 23:7

THE SABBATH PRINCIPLE

1. The Sabbatical year

a) Six years of tilling the ground   Exodus 23:10
b) The seventh year the ground is to rest (to lie fallow)   Exodus 23:11
i) The Vineyard

2. The weekly Sabbath

a) A six day week   Exodus 23:12
b) Rest on the Sabbath
i) The ox
ii) The donkey
iii) The son of the female servant
iv) The stranger   Exodus 23:12

IDOLATRY

1. Be circumspect

2. Don’t even mention the name of the idol   Exodus 23:13

THREE ANNUAL FEASTS

1. The Feast of Unleavened Bread   Exodus 23:15

a) Unleavened bread to be eaten for 7 days
b) None to appear before God empty-handed

2. The Feast of the Harvest of Firstfruits   Exodus 23:16

The Feast of weeks

3. The Feast of Ingathering at the end of the year   Exodus 23:16

The Feast of Tabernacle/ Booths

4. Appearing before the Lord God   Exodus 23:14, 17

5. The offerings

To be thoughtfully given to the Lord   Exodus 23:18-19
