Preparing Our Hearts For Youth Conference 2014

Youth Conference 2014 will begin this coming Sunday. Many of us have been eagerly waiting for this day since last year. Of course, we must not take it for granted that it will once again turn out well. The onus is on us to pray that the Lord will indeed bless. Furthermore, it is also our responsibility to prepare our hearts that we would be ready to listen to God’s word taught by the Pastors and teachers. Let’s seek to prepare our hearts well to seek the Lord

Specially Chosen To Know The Lord

“Then he said, ‘The God of our fathers has chosen you …'”
Acts 22:14

The Word “chosen” in the Greek has the idea of being “hand-picked beforehand”. Paul was specially hand-picked by the Lord God to be His chosen vessel. He was given this great privilege to serve Him. But before he could do so, Paul had this important purpose to know the Lord.

1. Knowing The Will Of The Lord Well

“… that you should know His will …”
Acts 22:14

Paul was meant to have knowledge of the will of God. He had to discover and know the workings of the Lord’s will in his life and how to apply that knowledge in all wisdom and spiritual understanding (Colossians 1:9). May we also have this purpose to know the Lord’s will at this Conference.

2. Seeing The Lord Jesus For Who He Is

“… and see the Just One …”
Acts 22:14

Paul was also meant to see and perceive the Lord Jesus for himself. Of course, Paul had the privilege of the Lord Jesus appearing to him personally. He would see and understand the Lord Jesus as One who was truly real, just and gracious. While we may not see the Lord Jesus in person today, we can still perceive the Lord Jesus for who He is with spiritual eyes. The Spirit of God can enlighten our mind and heart to who the Lord Jesus is.

3. Hearing The Voice Of The Lord Speaking To Us Personally

“… and hear the voice of His mouth.”
Acts 22:14

Paul would also personally hear the Lord Jesus speak to him. Those who were with Paul on the road to Damascus only saw the light when Jesus appeared to them. They did not hear Him speak to them (Acts 22:9). Paul was given this great privilege to hear the Lord speak to him. The Lord Jesus can also speak to us during this conference through the teaching of His word. Is your heart ready to hear?

Being A Witness To All Men

“For you will be His witness to all men of what you have seen and heard.”
Acts 21:15

After hearing, seeing and experiencing the Lord for who He is, Paul would be His witness to the world. He would vigorously testify for Him to all men with great conviction and power. What Paul would see spiritually was going to affect him deeply. May what we hear and see at this Conference also deeply affect us. Let’s seek to know Lord in a greater way that we may bear witness of Him to all.
