The Personal Desire To Be With The Lord In His House During Youth Conference

Youth Conference 2011 is finally commencing this Sunday. Many of us have waited a whole year for this day to come since last year’s conference ended. We are all looking forward to a great time of learning and anticipating what this year’s conference sketch is on. And yet, the thing that we should be most concerned about is to seek the Lord and to meet Him in His house. This was David’s desire when he sought to develop his faith.

“One thing I have desired of the Lord,
That will I seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the Lord
All the days of my life”

Psalm 27:4

His sole desire was to be in the Lord’s house all the days of his life. There was a deep love for God and His house. Young people, let’s also have the personal desire to seek the Lord’s presence in His house during this Youth Conference.

The Compelling Factors To Be In The Lord’s House

1. Personal Discovery Of God

“To behold the beauty of the Lord”
Psalm 27:4

David had discovered some wonderful truths about the Lord. The Lord was His light, salvation and strength. And yet, there was so much more to discover about Him. He had a strong desire to discover the beautiful greatness of the Lord as he dwelt in His house. There is so much more that we can understand and wonder concerning God and His ways. Young people, let’s also seek to discover the beauty of the Lord during this conference.

2. Personal Inquiry Of God

“And to inquire in His temple.
For in the time of trouble
He shall hide me in His pavilion.”

Psalm 27:4-5

The Psalmist also sought to inquire of the Lord concerning challenges that he may be facing. He sought the Lord because he was aware of the impending threat of war. His confidence was that during such times, God was going to definitely hide Him in His (invisible) house. David sought the Lord and found confidence in His presence. Let’s also inquire of the Lord at conference.

The Response Of Praise In The House Of God

“Therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in His tabernacle;
I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord.”

Psalm 27:6

As a response to dwelling in the Lord’s house, David determined to give praise to Him. He offered acts of worship to God with great joy in His house. Let’s look forward to a great time of being with the Lord and dwelling in His house. As the Lord opens our understanding and speaks to our hearts, may we offer praises of joy to Him! Let’s determine to sing to Him with gladness.
