Praising God For A Great Easter Week!

Each Easter should be memorable. This last Easter was no exception. We want to praise the Lord for a great time of worship and listening to the word of God. It was a moving time of remembering the Lord’s death and rejoicing in His resurrection. The Maundy Thursday service, the musicale nights and the Easter service and lunch saw hundreds of new people coming to be with us for this Easter celebration. For this, we want to give thanks to God for the opportunity to share the gospel with these newcomers. Let’s pray that the truths of the gospel will grow within their hearts and they will seek to know our Saviour and Lord further.

Thanking God For His Blessings On The Concerts

If we were to look back on all that has transpired at the Easter musicale, we cannot help but see the grace of God involved in blessing us. Both the Youth and the YAG choirs worked hard at the weekly rehearsals. We had to go through the different songs and the movements for each song repeatedly. But it was wonderful to see both choirs, although tired at times, still seeking to do their best. In the end, the Lord’s name was lifted up. It was amazing to see the Lord impacting the hearts of many and touching lives. We cannot help but give thanks to God for all that He has blessed us with. When we do our part in preparing well in serving Him and committing everything to the Lord in prayer, He will do His part to bless.

Two Pertinent Thoughts After Easter

There are two thoughts that I will carry with me after Easter.

1. The Need For Cleansing

“He who is bathed needs only to wash his feet”
John 13:10

Pastor was explaining during Maundy Thursday of two types of cleansing. There is the first cleansing with reference to our salvation. This cleansing was something that Judas did not have at all. The second cleansing is when we walk in the world, we collect all forms of “dust” … sins and influences of the world and we need the Lord Jesus to cleanse us of the “dust on our feet”. Truly, we all need the Lord to constantly cleanse us of worldly ways and sins.

2. The Lord’s Restoration Of Peter

One of the scenes depicted during the Easter musicale was the Lord’s restoration of Peter after his denial. He asked Peter whether he loved Him three times (John 21:15-17). Each time, Peter replied with deep grief and humility that he loved Him (John 21:15-17). The possibility of failing the Lord may be there. But what matters most is whether we really love Him. If we do love Him, then let’s seek restoration each time when we fail Him. Our challenge is to rise up again to follow “The Man” and to do His will.
