A Wonderful Opportunity To Reach Out

Bethany’s Chinese New Year Special this Saturday is going to be an opportune time for outreach. We have about 505 people coming for this happy occasion and 149 of them are 65 years and above. Some of them are coming to Church for the very first time and this poses for us the exciting prospect of bearing witness of the Lord in a non-obtrusive manner. God willing, the Lord, through our efforts, will impress upon the hearts of these people as they come, hear and experience what it means to be in Church. If you have not invited your non-believing parents, relatives and friends for this occasion, perhaps you can still do so. Let’s do we can to reach out to those who need to hear the gospel.

Personal Reasons To Preach The Gospel

What are our reasons for sharing the gospel?

1. Personal Indebtedness To God And Non-Believers

“I am a debtor both to Greeks and to barbarians, both to wise and to unwise.”
Romans 1:14

The apostle Paul felt a deep sense of indebtedness to the Lord and to people who have not heard the gospel. He owed it to them to share the gospel. It does not matter who they are, and whether they are well-educated or not. Everyone needs to hear the gospel and we owe it to them to do so.

2. Personal Convictions Concerning The Content Of The Gospel Of Christ

“For it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith”
Romans 1:16-17

Another reason to preach the gospel is found in the gospel itself. Its content has the power of God to bring someone to faith in the Lord Jesus. It is also able to reveal to people the righteousness of God in giving mankind salvation from one generation of faith to another. Even more so, we should bear witness of the Lord to as many people as we can. Let’s be highly motivated to share our faith.

Personal Readiness To Preach The Gospel

“I am ready to preach the gospel to you who are in Rome also.”
Romans 1:15

Paul had great eagerness to preach the gospel wherever it was needed. How did he go about it?

1. With All That We Are

“So, as much as is in me”
Romans 1:15

The apostle Paul did not just preach the gospel with mere words. His gospel was preached with the backing of his outstanding life and testimony. With all that the Lord had done graciously in his life and ministry, he sought to preach the gospel. Let’s preach the gospel with all that is within us.

2. With Not Being Ashamed Of The Lord And The Gospel

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ”
Romans 1:16

The Lord Jesus had taught that we should not be ashamed of Him and His gospel (Mark 8:38). Paul chose in faith to not to be ashamed of the gospel of God. Let’s also seek to share our faith with others without wavering. Let’s find the courage to bear witness for Him at all times.
