The Challenge To Go Deeper In Our Appreciation Of God And His Work

To understand the concept of appreciation is one thing. But to really possess a depth of appreciation that comes from the inner recesses of the heart and to express it with appropriate lasting responses is another thing all together. Young people, as we look forward to an exciting 40+1 Church anniversary, let’s never take things for granted or be complacent. Let’s vigorously seek to respond to our Lord God for His great faithfulness to His covenant and to His people. The Lord blessed the people of Israel from one man, Abraham, to becoming a great nation. He faithfully provided for the people of Israel and brought them out of Egypt with joy.

“He brought out His people with joy,
His chosen ones with gladness.”

Psalm 105:43

From the humble beginnings of only a few people to becoming a great nation, God’s faithfulness in keeping His word is evident. He brought His people out of Egypt with a great sense of joy and gladness. He brought them into the Promised Land according to His great graciousness. Young people, let’s go deeper in our understanding and responses to the Lord.

Having Natural Responses To God

“Oh, give thanks to the Lord! Call upon His name

Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him;

Talk of all His wondrous works!”

Psalm 105:1-2

What are some natural responses we can have with regards to God and His works?

  1. Giving thanks to God.
  2. Praying to God.
  3. Singing to God.
  4. Speaking about God and His wondrous works.

These are natural responses that we should have. And yet, we should not just be happy with such responses. The challenge is to cultivate even deeper responses to God

Cultivating Depth Of Responses To God

“Make known His deeds among the peoples!

Glory in His holy name;

Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the Lord!

Seek the Lord and His strength”

Psalm 105:1-4

What are some deeper responses we can cultivate?

  1. Seeking to glory in God’s name and His name only.
  2. Learning to rejoice in the Lord deeply.
  3. Seeking the Lord and His strength daily.
  4. Seeking the Lord’s face.

Our challenge is to cultivate deeper responses so that we may show a greater sense of appreciation to the Lord.
