The Reality Of The Resurrection Of Christ

Is the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ real to you? Very often, at Easter time, certain “Christian” leaders will speak about how they do not really believe in the resurrection of Jesus. They may call themselves Christians, and yet, the resurrection of Jesus is a myth to them. They confidently declare that there is no resurrection. Young people, do you actually believe in the resurrection of the Lord Jesus? The Apostle Peter did. He wrote about the reality of Christ’s resurrection.

“Through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead”
1 Peter 1:3

Christ indeed rose from the dead. Peter had certainty in the resurrection of Jesus. Let’s also be certain on this matter.

Ramifications Of Genuine Faith In Christ’s Resurrection

If we have genuine faith in the Lord’s resurrection, what are some of the ramifications?

1. Having A Living Hope

“Who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you”
1 Peter 1:3-4

The Lord God, through His great mercy, has given us the gift of eternal life. He has begotten us to a living hope. There comes a great sense of hope through faith in the resurrection of Jesus. We will have an inheritance in heaven that will not fade away. This is a most definite hope. This hope drives us on despite the problems of life.

2. Being Specially Kept By The Power Of God

“Who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”
1 Peter 1:5

As believers in the resurrection, we also are specially kept by God. The Lord will use His divine power to protect and specially watch over us. During the time of Peter, the early church was going through much persecution. It was through faith in Jesus that the power of God worked in their lives. Let’s learn to trust in God for His protection. He will guard us from all harm.

3. Having Great Joy In Times Of Trouble

“In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials”
1 Peter 1:6

Genuine faith helps us to rejoice despite the sufferings of life. Peter wrote of how we can greatly rejoice in the faith that we have in Christ. God may allow us to go through some difficult trials. But these difficulties are only meant to last for a short while. Our focus should be on eternal things. Our faith and hope in the Lord Jesus should give us a great sense of joy. Young people, let’s seek to find great joy even in times of trouble.
