Determining To End The Year With Praise

How should we end 2006? It is most appropriate that we end it with praising the Lord for who He is and what He has done for us. The Psalmist sought always to praise God.

“I will extol You, my God, O King;
And I will bless Your name forever and ever.
Every day I will bless You,
And I will praise Your name forever and ever.”

Psalm 145:1-2

He was determined to extol the Lord as His King. There was the deep desire to praise Him daily and to raise up His name continually. The Lord is truly great and He deserves to be extolled. As we come to the end of the year, let’s seek to extol His name.

Wonderful Reasons To Extol The Lord

What are some wonderful reasons that impel us to extol the Lord?

1. The Lord’s Great Grace And Mercy

“The Lord is gracious and full of compassion,
Slow to anger and great in mercy.
The Lord is good to all,
And His tender mercies are over all His works.”

Psalm 145:8-9

The Lord has been most gracious to all of us this year. Without the Lord’s mercy, we would not be where we are today. It is because of the greatness of the Lord’s mercy that we survived 2006. Let’s seek to praise God for His abundant mercies and grace.

2. The Glory Of His Kingdom

“They shall speak of the glory of Your kingdom,
And talk of Your power”

Psalm 145:11

Many of us have also come to appreciate being part of the Lord’s kingdom after the Youth Conference. We have seen the glory of His kingdom. It is truly an everlasting kingdom that will never be destroyed. It is such a great joy to be part of this great kingdom… to belong to the brotherhood of saints… to have God as our true King.

The Challenge For The Next Wave To Praise God

“One generation shall praise Your works to another,
And shall declare Your mighty acts.”

Psalm 145:4

The first, second and third wave of Youth Conference leaders have sought to praise the Lord. They have continued to extol Him. It is time that the fourth wave learn to praise His works too. Let’s come for down memory lane on New Year’s Eve at 8 pm. Let’s come and listen of how the Lord has blessed others. Let’s seek to praise the Lord together.
