A CHURCH JOINED AND KNIT TOGETHER

Christ As The Head Of The Body

What makes a Church grow in unity and in strength? Among other things, it is when Christ is given the pre-eminence in the Church. When He is truly the head of the Church, truth will be taught and preached by the servants of God who love Him and His people.

“But speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head – Christ”
Ephesians 4:15

The Church will not be “tossed about” by “waves” of wrong doctrines. The constant and systematic teaching of truth will help establish the Church. It will cause it to grow into Christ and make it so much more one in Him. We must always seek to learn from the truth of God’s word so that the Church can grow.

Being A Part Of The Body Of Christ

“From whom the whole body, joined and knit together by whatever joint supplies”
Ephesians 4:16

When Christ is established as the head of any Church, the whole body will be joined together as one. Just like a human body that is joined together by joints and bones, so the Church is also joined together as one community of believers. Each one of us can be a part of this body of Christ. The Lord Jesus is our head and we are the body. Young people, you can play a definite part in the body of Christ. Let us not say that we do not belong to the Church. We can really find a sense of belonging if we only allow ourselves to be joined and knit together with others at Bethany.

Doing Our Share In The Body

“According to the effective working by which every part does it share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.”
Ephesians 4:16

Not only are we to be a part of the body of Christ, we are also meant to do our share. When we do our share in whatever ministry it may be, it will cause growth to the body. Every part of the body has a role to play. When a part does its share, it contributes to the overall health of the body. In the same way, when we serve the Lord well in a particular ministry, we contribute to the overall health of the Church. Young people, let’s seek to do our part well in the Lord’s work.

Helping Out In The Bethany Clean-Up

One of the ways that young people can contribute is helping in cleaning the Church. Every week, we see many young people doing their part in this important ministry. If you are looking for a place to serve in, this is a good place to start. This Saturday, we will be doing a big clean up of the whole Church. We need all the help that we can get. Let’s make the time to come and help out. Let’s do our part in making the Church a cleaner and neater place to worship Him.
