A CALL TO SING JOYFULLY TO THE LORD

Pastor had been using Psalm 95 as his call at Youth Worship to come and worship the Lord.

Oh come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.  Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.”  Psalm 95:1-2

It is a call to sing and raise our voices to praise the Lord joyfully. Pastor would always challenge us to be conscious of Him and to come into His presence with thanksgivings. Joy comes about in our worship when our hearts are full of thanksgiving to Him.

Last Saturday was rather special because it was the first time we can actually sing to God in Church for the past one year. My heart was just so filled with joy as we sang to the Lord “How great thou art!” Tears of joy were flowing down my eyes as we sang this wonderful song of praise to Him. Truly, I am just so thankful to the Lord for being our great God and that we could sing to Him again.

REASONS FOR SINGING JOYFULLY TO THE LORD

1. He is a great Rock of Salvation  (Psalm 95:1)

It was the Lord who brought Israel out of Egypt. He was the great Rock of salvation to them.

The Lord is also our great Rock that we can rely on. He is the one who is there to deliver us in our times of need. He has been our great Rock for this past one year of pandemic.

2. He is a great God and King   (Psalm 95:3)

The Lord God is also our great God and King who is sovereign over all things. He is the God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth (Gen 14:22). He is supreme king above all so called “gods.” The Lord is still in control over all things despite all that is happening in the world.

These are just some of the wonderful attributes of God that we can sing about and thank Him for. Our mind and heart can be so filled with the greatness of the Lord that we cannot help but praise Him joyfully.

COME AND SING

Young people, my challenge to you is to come and sing to the Lord at Youth Worship. We can still accommodate more people. Invite your friends! Come and experience once again what it means to sing and give praise to the Lord joyfully. Come before His presence and sing with thanksgiving! Every joyful voice raised to the Lord adds to the worth of our worship to Him.

Oh come, let us sing to the Lord!
