TRACING GOD’S HAND IN OUR LIFE

  1. Having greater focus on the Lord

Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the and of their masters, as the eyes of a maid to the hand of their mistress, so our eyes look to the Lord our God, until He has mercy on us.”  Psalm 123:2

The Psalmist had learnt to concentrate his focus on the Lord.  A good servant during the times of the Psalmist would constantly look at the hand of the master.   When the master just moves his hand in a certain way, he knows how to respond.  There is tremendous sensitivity to the Lord’s leading.  We too should learn to focus on the Lord and sense His leading.  We are to wait patiently till He bestows mercy upon us.

  1. Reflecting on the Lord’s hand in our life

If it had not been the Lord who was on our side,…”   Psalm 124:1

When we have sought to focus on the Lord and rely on His mercy, His hand would be involved in our life.  David was able to trace the Lord’s hand in his life.  If the Lord had not been there for him and Israel, they would have been swallowed up by their enemies.  His enemies would have overwhelmed him and Israel as a raging sea overwhelms ships.  David was able to give thanks to the Lord for it is He who grants deliverance.  He recognised that His help is in the name of the Lord who made heaven and earth.  Truly God is an awesome God!   Young people, let’s learn to rely on the Lord as our help and be able to trace His hand of blessing in our life.
