Looking forward to a new Sanctuary in Bethany IV

This panorama shot was taken a day before the Main Sanctuary was closed for the Bethany IV Addition and Alteration (A&A) project.

As I stood on stage overlooking and appreciating every feature of the Sanctuary in Bethany III for the last time, a verse from Psalm 26:8 came to mind –

Lord, I have loved the habitation of Your house and the place where Your glory dwells.”

I saw the Lord’s glory evidently through the lovely furnishings of the Sanctuary – the well-polished stage, solid wooden pews and the beautiful stained glass panels at the side. But more than just its physical beauty, I have seen the glory of God in this place when the Word of God was preached, with power and authority, every weekend for the past 12 years (2003-2015).

Personally, this Sanctuary holds many special memories for me, as this was where I remembered the Lord speaking to my heart and convicting me of the sins in my life during the Youth Conference in 2007. This was also where I took my step of faith to be identified with the Lord Jesus Christ at the Easter Baptismal Service in 2008.

While construction of the new Sanctuary has begun and the physical fixtures of this place are no more, I am looking forward to the completion of a newer, bigger and better Sanctuary. I can’t wait to behold the Lord’s glory afresh, when the Word of God would be sounded forth in the new Sanctuary once again in Bethany IV!
