I will love You, O LORD

This picture was taken at Yosemite National Park when I was on holiday back in 2015. It reminds me of a verse:

I will love You, O Lord, my strength.
The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer;
My God, my strength, in whom I will trust;
My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
(Psalm 18:1-2)

Within these two verses, God is described as “strength, rock, fortress, deliverer, shield, horn of salvation, stronghold” – 7 features altogether! In these two verses, it speaks about the dynamism of God, how in different scenarios, we can see the different features of God and find out more about Him. The Psalmist throughout Psalm 18 recollects the multiple instances God saw him through in his life; the many times God delivered him and the various ways God showed His hand to him in difficulties.

At the start of the year, I prayed that I may find God real in my life. The year is drawing to an end and I have come to learn more and more about this great God I have and how He has become more real to me in my life.

In Psalm 18, it is seen on how David found God real in His life and his response was “I will love You, O Lord”. As I continue to seek the Lord and find out more about Him, this too is my prayer – that I may determine in my heart to always love Him even in the midst of difficulties.
