Grace Works Week 1 Banner

A new YAG Weekly

Beginning this week, I will be writing a new weekly letter to all in the YAG. It is entitled “Grace Works”. For this week’s article, I would like to share with you my personal goals for “Grace Works” and why I have named it so.

My Goals

What are my goals for this new YAG Weekly?

1. It is to continue in the grace that we have learned and received at this year’s family camp. Writing this weekly is my way “to continue in the grace of God.” (Acts 13:43)

2. It is to go deeper into the many things learned about grace. There are deeper thoughts about grace that we want to explore and to be enlightened to. (Eph 1:19) May we seek to grow in our understanding of grace!

3. To consciously apply this grace…that we will not see this grace received in vain. Through this Weekly, I hope to share how I continue to depend and to apply the Lord’s grace in my life. May His grace truly not be received in vain. (1 Corinthians 15:10)

The reasons for the title “Grace Works”

There are a number of reasons why I have chosen this title.

1. Grace really works

“Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.” (Rom 3:24)

Through our study of the doctrine of grace, I have discovered that grace is effective for our salvation through faith. It is not something that is futile nor will it lead us to failure. Grace gives us salvation that is true and real. Grace works.

2. Grace working in my life

“But by the grace of God I am what I am…” (1 Corinthians 15:10)

Grace should be seen as an operating system in our life. For Paul, grace worked in every aspect of his life that he was able to say that he was what he was by the grace of God. Grace affects everything that we are and do. Grace works.

3. Works of grace

“Of which I became a minister according to the gift of the grace of God given to me by the effective working of His power.” (Eph 3:7)

In receiving the grace of God, we should be challenged to do works of grace. As Paul was, we are also ministers according to the gift of grace. Through the effective working of grace in us, we can serve and do works of grace. Grace works.

Let’s be challenged as a YAG to see grace working in our life in the year ahead.
