DESOLATE AND AFFLICTED
Life can be stressful and challenging;
One may even feel it’s not worth living.
Desolation and affliction hurt deeply;
The heart and mind are affected badly.
Nobody is spared from life’s troubles;
Trials and tribulation can be terrible.
The heart finds no rest in the night;
The mind is numbed through fright.
Praying to God is the wisest thing to do;
The petitioner will find respite that is true.
The mercy of the Lord is what we need;
It is the grace of God that we must seek.
God can deal with our sins that bring torment;
He will forgive even as He provides atonement.
Let the distresses of life see us turn to the Lord;
Mercy will be tenderly given by our gracious God.
