Subject: “The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

1 Corinthians 2:9

9 But as it is written:

“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

INTRODUCTION

1. There are some whose lives have been greatly blessed

2. How did they become so blessed spiritually?

3. Paul was an outstanding example of one whom God blessed significantly

How may we seek such blessings?

WHAT GOD HAS PREPARED

But as it is written:

“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

1 Corinthians 2:9

1. God has prepared many things for those who love Him

a) This speaks of God’s grace

b) It displays His love

2. The human experience

a) The eye

b) The ear

c) The heart

These cannot fathom what God has prepared for His chosen ones

3. An adaptation of a Prophecy

For since the beginning of the world Men have not heard nor perceived by the ear, Nor has the eye seen any God besides You, Who acts for the one who waits for Him.

Isaiah 64:4

a) The focus is God acting for the ones who wait on Him

b) God alone can perform special deeds for those who wait on Him

4. An adaption of a Psalm

Oh, how great is Your goodness, Which You have laid up for those who fear You, Which You have prepared for those who trust in You In the presence of the sons of men!

Psalm 31:19

a) God’s goodness has been laid up

b) For those who fear Him

c) For those who trust in Him

All these observations are correct!

OUR CHALLENGE

1. To not limit God

a) By our experience

b) By our knowledge

c) By our speculation

d) By our unbelief

These things hinder us from the deep revelation that God can reveal to us

2. To look at how we can improve spiritually:

a) Our love for God (1 Cor 2:8)

b) Our waiting on God (Isaiah 64:4)

c) Our fear of the Lord (Psalm 31:19)

d) Our trust in God (Psalm 31:19c)

THE BLESSINGS OF GOD

1. Deep revealed truths

2. The acts of God

3. The great goodness of Go
