Text: Revelation 16

8 Then the fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and power was given to him to scorch men with fire.

9 And men were scorched with great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues; and they did not repent and give Him glory.

Revelation 16:8-9

THE FOURTH BOWL OF WRATH

1. Poured out by an angel

2. This was poured out on the sun

3. Power given to the angel to scorch men with fire

4. Scorching heat from the sun

a) Great heat felt

b) Blasphemed the name of God

i) They blamed God for His power

ii) They blasphemed His name because of the great heat felt

c) There was no repentance

d) No acknowledgment of the glory of God (His power)

THE FIFTH BOWL OF WRATH

10 Then the fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and his kingdom became full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues because of the pain.

11 They blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and did not repent of their deeds.

Revelation 16:10-11

1. This angel poured forth his bowl of wrath on the throne of the beast

2. The kingdom of the beast

a) It became full of darkness

b) Great pain was also experienced

c) They gnawed their tongue because of the pain

3. Response of the people

a) They blasphemed God in heaven

b) They blasphemed because of:

i) Their pain

ii) Their sores

c) They did not repent of their sinful deeds
