THE TOOLS WE NEED TO DIG A WELL
What tools are needed to dig a spiritual well effectively?
Experience teaches us we need good tools to dig deeply.
The well we need to dig may be the hardened human heart;
And the tools we employ must be good and strong and sharp.
The ground of the heart may be hardened over the years;
The wise well-digger knows that there may be tears.
A sharp pick-axe Faith is needed to break hard ground;
Stones and other hard objects may, in the ground, abound.
The strong shovel of Hope must be used to take away the debris;
The ground must be thoroughly dug till water is found eventually.
The hard earth will not yield easily and thus Strength must abound;
Strong arms must wield the tools till good living water is found.
The human heart is the ground that we need to be attending;
The hardships of life and sins cause the ground to be unyielding.
Faith, Hope, Strength will need to be mastered and applied;
The hope of finding living water must cause the tears to be dried!
