THE GLORY OF GOD SEEN IN THE FULL RESTORATION OF A NATION

1. Highly illustrative of the glorious work of God as Redeemer

2. Highly instructive of what God can do in our lives when He is the Redeemer

A DESOLATE NATION

1. Tossed with tempest   (Isaiah 54:11)

2. Oppressed and fearful   (Isaiah 54:14)

A CALL TO CAST AWAY FEAR

“Do not fear, for you will not be ashamed, neither be disgraced…”   Isaiah 54:4

1. You will forget the same of your youth

2. And will not remember the reproach of your widowhood anymore   (Isaiah 54:5)

A FULLY RESTORED RELATIONSHIP

“The God of the whole earth”   Isaiah 54:5

1. A close relationship with God

a) Your Maker is your husband
b) The LORD of Hosts is His name
c) Your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel   (Isaiah 54:5)

2. Glorious promises

a) Great mercies   (Isaiah 54:7)
b) Everlasting kindness   (Isaiah 54:8)
c) Not angry anymore   (Isaiah 54:9)
d) Covenant of peace   (Isaiah 54:10)

THE HERITAGE OF THE SERVANTS OF THE LORD

1. No weapon formed against you shall prosper

2. Every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn

3. Righteousness is from the LORD   (Isaiah 54:17)

A CALL TO REJOICE AND CELEBRATE

“Sing, O barren”   Isaiah 54:1

1. Expansion

a) The barren /the desolate (These have no children of their own)
b) They will now have more children than the married   (Isaiah 54:1)

2. Extension

a) Extension of tent
b) Strengthen the stakes/ Lengthen the cords
c) You shall expand to the right and to the left
d) Descendants will inherit the nations
e) Desolate cities inhabited   (Isaiah 54:2-3)
