“BEHOLD, MY SERVANT”

 

(I) THE THEME FOR EASTER

1. To meditate on the life of the Lord Jesus

2. To dwell on how He focused on simply being a Servant

 

(II) GOD’S RELATIONSHIP WITH ISRAEL

1. As Maker

2. As the Lord God

3. As Protector

4. As Provider


(III) ISRAEL’S RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD

1. Defiance

2. Disobedience

3. Disarray

 

(IV) GOD’S SOLUTION

1. To give a significant prophetic word

2. He will find Someone who would be a Faithful Servant

3. He would be given the hardest of tasks

4. However He will succeed as a Servant of God


(V) GOD’S JOY AND PRIDE IN HIS SERVANT

1. Presentation

“Behold, My Servant” Isaiah 42:1

a) Announcement with joy and pride

b) Anointment with the Holy Spirit

 

2. Pronouncement of His difficult tasks

a) He will bring forth justice (Isaiah 42:1)

b) Even to the Gentiles (Isaiah 42:1)


(VI) OUR CHALLENGE

1. To stand in wonder at the Example of the Lord Jesus as a faithful Servant of God

2. To be stirred in the heart to Emulate His Example of being a faithful servant of God
