YOU ARE MY KING, O GOD

In days of old, Kings played an important role;

They defend the country, they have to be bold.

Enemies were many and often filled with wickedness;

The challenge was to have Kings who were righteous.

Human monarchs did not fare so well in history;

Many were proud and they ruled very poorly.

The country suffered much as a consequence;

Faith in God as King was of great importance!

The Psalmist cried out to the LORD as his King;

God was personal to Him, in everything.

There were urgent dangers that threatened;

Crying out to God in faith was relevant.

Our challenge is to see the LORD as our King;

His Kingdom is different but a very real thing!

How wonderful it is to know that God is Sovereign;

And we may entrust to Him all we consider important.
