WHENEVER I AM AFRAID

If we are honest, we will admit to having fear;

The evil presence of enemies is all too near.

Fear flutters and the heart becomes afraid;

This dread can affect the heart and the head.

The heart must learn to exercise trust in God;

We must call on our knowledge of the Lord.

He has come to our rescue time and again;

Our trust in the Lord would not be in vain!

Fear is best faced with all honesty;

Our faith in God must be checked candidly.

A strong trust in the Lord must prevail;

A little faith would prove to be of no avail.

What can wicked man really do to us?

We must learn how to have a deep trust.

We need not succumb to nameless fear;

Our great and wonderful God is right here!
