THE LORD REWARDED ME
It was not for personal glory this testimony was written;
It was out of deep appreciation of the LORD in heaven.
God knows all about our personal fears that exist;
But He sees and appreciates the faith that persists.
The LORD does not look for sinless perfection;
This is impossible because of sin’s corruption.
But He notes how we regard His judgments;
He also notes how we regard His statutes given.
The LORD will examine the true state of our heart;
He would know if from His word we depart.
But though there were fears that were deep;
True faith continues, the LORD’s face, to seek.
God is well-pleased when we seek to live righteously;
He will reward according to what we attempt faithfully.
His deliverance is His way of giving confirmation;
He will recompense with practical commendation.
