PRAYING AGAINST WICKEDNESS
There is no question that Wickedness exists;
Violence, strife and oppression point to Evilness.
The heart is torn and desires to flee the Enemy;
But fleeing does not solve the problem of Iniquity.
The heart cries out to God for Divine Judgment;
There is a longing for powerful Intervention.
A heartfelt cry goes up to the LORD;
A prayer for condemnation from God!
David was afraid of powerful enemies externally;
What was worse was to be betrayed internally.
A companion and close acquaintance had arisen;
The heart was rent and there arose a cry for judgment.
Would God answer imprecatory prayers as they stand?
The LORD would indeed respond with a mighty hand.
His sovereign is always based on deep wisdom;
He would uphold justice and mete out correct judgment.
