O LORD MY ROCK
Wickedness surrounds and the heart worries;
There is evil afoot and it appears in flurries.
The wicked attempts to speak words of peace;
But they seek only to beguile and to deceive.
The silence of God is felt and is frightening;
Is the LORD really not listening?
The silence of God drives one to urgency;
Prayers must ascend even more fervently.
The heart must cling to the LORD;
He is ever our steadfast Rock.
Our strength in times of need;
Faith must hold fast to God indeed!
The LORD will deal with the wicked;
We must exercise faith instead.
We must not give in to worry;
God will hear prayers assuredly!
