MY STRENGTH IS DRIED UP

When we have come to the end of our strength;

The mind reels, the heart is numb, pain is immense.

The enemies seem too powerful to overcome;

The heart and soul feel that life is now done!

The heart is no longer brave and strong;

Fear creeps in, and there is no song.

Despair sets in and hope seems dead;

Sorrow fills the heart and soul instead.

What can one do in such fearful times?

One gropes, like a man who is blind.

Is there yet hope that will bring consolation?

Or is there only tired resignation?

God wants us to know human strength is limited;

Our need is to Trust in God’s power unrestricted.

God can revive our fainting heart with His might;

Nothing is impossible in the Lord’s sight!
