IF ANYONE SERVES ME, LET HIM FOLLOW ME
Multitudes followed Jesus, and each had his own reason;
Some hoped to be healed, others wished to enter Heaven.
The years would tell who would be faithful and strong;
Many fell by the wayside and their “faith” was proven wrong.
Jesus had an unwavering sense of commitment to God;
He knew the Divine Plan that His Father had wrought.
His path would lead to great suffering and pain;
But He believed that His death would not be in vain!
Suffering and death are not easy things to accept at all;
But faith enables one to hear and heed the Lord’s call.
The Example of Jesus and how He faced death is amazing;
He would not be deterred, no matter how great the suffering!
The Challenge to all who speak of following Jesus is clear;
He must not regard his present life and all it promises, as dear.
The servant who is prepared to give his all to follow Jesus fully;
To this faithful servant, the LORD will give great honour truly.
