GIVE YOUR STRENGTH TO YOUR SERVANT

It takes genuine humility to admit that we are poor and needy;

One hopes in God’s mercy, though he may seem to be mighty.

The appeal to the Lord’s mercy is correct and insightful;

Mercy is but one aspect of His attributes that are wonderful.

Genuine humility, however, is not easily found;

Human pride and conceit, unfortunately abound.

To think of self as nothing more than a maidservant’s son;

Anything less than humility would cause one to be undone.

The soul must also humbly wait for God’s answer to be given;

There is no way in which we can rush the Lord of Heaven.

The wise person thus pleads for the strength of God;

To bear and to endure what is allowed by the LORD.

The Lord may yet give a sign to indicate His approval;

But one must not yield to fears that could cause upheaval.

The soul must continue to focus on the attributes of the LORD;

It is enough that our prayers are heard by our Almighty God!
