ENLIGHTEN MY EYES
The strong is not immune to depression;
Even a mighty giant-slayer may have confusion.
Doubts can cast dark shadows on the mind;
And one wonders why God seems to be blind.
He seems to be deaf to prayers too;
Where is the God who is faithful and true?
Fears arise and they do not go away easily;
The heart fears the triumph of the enemy.
A prayer for enlightenment must ascend to God;
The heart and mind need to be revived by the Lord.
The Lord has not hidden His face at all;
He is there to hear the moment we call.
Enlightenment will help us cope;
It will bring a fresh sense of hope.
Trust in God’s mercy must remain;
Faith in the Lord will not be in vain!
