A GREEN OLIVE TREE IN THE HOUSE OF GOD
A wonderful imagery was used by the Psalmist;
It is a green olive tree that in God’s house exists.
The green colour was chosen to represent youth;
God will care for it, though life may not be smooth.
Life may indeed be likened to an olive tree;
It may not be like the cedar, strong and mighty.
But the humble olive tree can be a blessing too;
It bears fruit in its season; God remains true!
We need to have deep roots that will trust God;
The roots of faith anchor our trust in the Lord.
We must learn to fear God will deep reverence;
The practice of this godly fear is of importance.
The mercy of the LORD will never fail;
Our trust in God’s good name will prevail.
God knows the way of the righteous indeed;
He would be there to meet all our needs.
