I Will Guide You
“I will teach you…” How these words must thrill the soul!
The heart is struck by these words, simple and bold.
The thought of God instructing us in this world so dark,
Brings an uplift and we can sing as happily as the lark.
“I will guide you…” These words bring comfort to the heart,
Many uncertainties threaten to tear our confidence apart.
How our hearts must seek to learn deep lessons from the Lord,
He speaks and we must seek to the hear the very word of God.
Like the mule and the horse, we do not easily obey the Lord.
We are not naturally inclined to walk with our gracious God.
How we must deal with our hearts that are so tainted by sin,
We must ever seek the Lord to cleanse us from deep within.
The Lord shows us in His word how He led His prophets of old,
If they were to led Him teach and guide, they become so bold.
The Lord taught some disciples how they may succeed in life,
We too can learn how to rise triumphant above great strife
